Loyola Chicago AAUP stands with SEIU Local 73

SEIU Local 73 represents non-tenure-track full- and part-time faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and the English Language Learning Program (ELLP). 

Negotiations on a new contract have stalled, and members are currently working without a contract. 

The situation was covered in a recent Phoenix article. We encourage tenure-track faculty to show support by signing the union’s ally petition. 

You can also speak to your students about the situation, make them more aware of the different kinds of faculty and how their working conditions differ, and bring the petition to their attention.
